About From the Cupboard

Wikipedia's definition of cupboard:  type of cabinet, often made of wood, often used indoors to store household objects such as food, crockery, textiles, and liquor, and protect them from dust, vermin, and dirt.

From the Cupboard's definition of cupboard:  type of "cabinet" made of love, used indoors and outdoors to store passion, memories, recipes, experiences, knowledge, photos, stories, and good times, and to protect them from being lost in time.

Therefore, From the Cupboard simply stands for the passion, stories, experiences, recipes, knowledge and photos that come from my heart and soul; sharing them with others just as I would a cake or pie from my own window seal.

Apple Cobbler
Content. I strive to not be categorized as a food blogger, ultimately meaning that I would have to share a certain number of recipes per month, and advertise for certain companies.  That is not what I am here for. But, at the same time, I will blog about anything, as long as it relates to food, which does classify me as a food blogger, just not your typical cookie cutter food blogger, if you will.  In other words, there is no right or wrong here.  Some posts may or may not have recipes, but all are filled with my main ingredient, and that is love.  There could be educational stories, past experiences, photo shots, blogs about what I am growing in my cupboard, etc. I simply want readers to sit back and enjoy!

Photography.  I also have a strong passion for photographing food, especially that of which I have prepared with my own two hands.  I love to shoot it in its original state, capturing its texture, color, and contrast, giving you every little detail along the way, doing my best to describe in detail the tastes and smells I am experiencing. Some photos are taken of the food from the time they are planted, until the time it makes its way to my belly, showing its long journey and beauty along the way.  I take all of my own photos, whether they be from a family gathering, or just the food itself.  All food is prepared naturally, and is fully eatable.

Inspiration.  Food is all around us, at every door way and window, every which way we turn.  It is necessary to survive.  It is an inspiration to watch someone enjoy the food you have prepared.  There are so many things that the common person does not know about food.  I love doing the research and sharing my finds.  I am inspired by people, restaurants, animals, family, TV, books, music, movies, working in a restaurant, and by nature...the list goes on.  It is a common denominator for life, and that is what keeps my interest most of the time. And, I love to eat too!
